Biden, In Hope
Acrylic paint and mixed media on paper.
I’ll never forget the night I sat breathing deeply and praying like it was Yom Kippur that the map would turn blue.
The CNN newscaster reminding us, again and again, how quickly things could turn. Then giving it up to God and going to sleep.
Finally finding out on Shabbos, that Biden had won, I was mostly numb. I watched Biden speak that night. Inspired, I was reminded of what America could be again. I started painting this that night.
The next morning, when I went for a run, everything took on a new meaning. I passed American flags and Kindness over Everything yard signs, the reality settling in, euphoria kicking in.We won, we won, we won, it’s over. This challenge is over. On to the next.
The last four years have been grueling, painful, transformative, informative, important. I’m ready to move on, to build, to hope.
So grateful that Biden had the bravery to take on and beat Trump. So grateful to all the people who campaigned and spread the word and protested and gave money to change our world.
So looking forward to a better future.
