Your parents are part of your essence. You cannot disattach from them, you cannot change them, you can only learn from them. It is said that in heaven, each soul chooses its parents, in order to help it strengthen its unique characteristics, weakness, and assets in order to accomplish its mission and become the greatest it can be. What does it mean to honor your parents? Learn who they are so you can learn who you are. What we choose to do with that love, how we develop it and respect it, that is our choice.
